Flying Saucer Attack – She Is The Daylight

Recording at home on 4-track the Flying Saucer Attack duo of David Pearce and Rachel Brook set about making ambient music for rock fans. Coming from trip-hop central obviously had its influences but Pearce and Brook were so adept at creating floating soundscapes that it’s a wonder that they could stay awake long enough to record the material. Their most accomplished long player is ‘Further’ which was released in 1995. Both parties were capable of ethereal vocal renditions as can be seen from ‘She Is The Daylight’ where Pearce slips words from of his mouth the way feathers might exit a pillow cover. Best enjoyed at the point of exhaustion or when in the company of someone you like a lot. KD
