This is so obviously a demo but there’s also a great deal of magic apparent in its glossless grooves. The band are signed to Shelflife Records and it kinda makes sense given that label’s affinity for mid-late 80’s styled indie pop. Despite coming from Florida Horse Shoes have a distinctly British sound. Fey boy vocals and jangling chords twitter in unison and in the process reimagine a simpler time before the internet when a stylus and some plastic made listening to music a much more tactile experience. Can’t say I miss the skips, crackles and broken needles though so we’ve gotta thank the changing winds for that. KD
