Pace – The Sea

Now this is a London trio worth loving, you’ll be able to tell as much from their latest single ‘The Sea’ which was informed by a tragic turn of the century drowning. Bernard Butler (formerly of Suede) produced and he has captured Jamie Ley’s sumptous voice which has an inbuilt hint of country twang. The melodies are persuasive and bolstered by a swell of instrumental flourishes and the prettiest of background cooing that I’ve heard in a while. Makes for a pristine package, understated but capable of taking your breath away. Loveliness. KH
