What eeriness is this, organ drifts from the mists of time or perhaps a bank of fog from the future. Has a Joy Zipper effect (vestiges of ABBA too) and some Beach House but then I’m not sure the latter have ever spiced their work with the bright-eyed energy that exists here. The husband and wife team of Aslyn and Kalen Nash steer the sound and their chemistry throughout the record is palpable. The otherworldly effects are counterbalanced by an all too human narrative, so ‘Ocean Love’ becomes uplifting and heartbreaking all at once. KH
