Ever since we were a little hugger we’ve been suckers for the stray jangling riff with a vocal that offers a similarly shimmering intent. Owing to its adhesion to such qualities ‘Good Grief’ was always going to be uppermost on our radar. Holding those sometimes fleeting attentions for 3:50 was a big ask though, but against the odds Western Australia’s Spacey Jane appear to forever have a trick up their sleeve. And it is all achieved with a minimum of effort, as if the tune had spilled from their being like a well-oiled and memorable conversation. KH
