The Diggs cite the Stone Roses as their primary influence so it seems kinda appropriate that they are signed to Sugarspun Records. The New York trio have already had the blogosphere in a tizzy with their debut ‘Commute’ which came out in late 2005. If the first taster from their new album is anything to go by then it could be a case of history repeating itself all over again with the follow up. I’ll be honest and say that I haven’t fallen head over heels for ‘Careen’ but I find myself returning to it over and over again. This is because the piece is extremely well polished indie rock, that scuttles about with furious abandon and Timothy Lannen does a fine job supplying the well lubricated vocals. It probably won’t become the prized asset on your favourite mix tape but you’ll be reticent to leave it out. ‘CTRL-Alt-Del’ is due for release in early 2008, task yourself with tracking it down. KD
