The Ladybug Transistor – Three Days From Now

It has been a year of highs and terrible lows for Brooklyn band the Ladybug Transistor. After a seemingly never-ending journey and countless line-up changes it appeared as if the bands sixth album ‘Can’t Wait Another Day’ could be the one to propel them. Tragically in late April, just a few weeks before the album was due to be released, their drummer San Fadyl passed away from a severe asthma attack. With a reputation for heroic pop wonders this is a collective that have hovered below the radar but are undoubtedly seeded with greatness. Along the way they’ve had contributions from members of Essex Green, the Aislers Set and Great Lakes but it has been the contribution of their constant Gary Olson (singer/songwriter) that has kept Ladybug in such ship shape. His voice is distinctive and warm and when combined with the tailored genius in the music it becomes a truly winning combination. In fact ‘Three Days From Now’ is birthed so fully formed and expansive it may take you by surprise. The joy never flags over its 3 and a half minutes making it one of the pop jewels of 2007. KD
