Here are just 2 more reasons why Celestial have been lighting up 2007 like the biggest Christmas Tree in the world. As you might suspect they are from Sweden but what you probably don’t know is that they are powered almost exclusively by just one man named Andreas Hagman. Andreas has a head full of dreams and noises and this year he decided to let the rest of the world know what it felt like. Very nice as it happens, especially if you are in the mood for a drop of dreampop, shoegaze or distorted jangling guitars. Celestial’s debut is called ‘Dream On’ and features so many indie pop classics it’s a wonder Sarah Records hasn’t risen from it’s slumber to shout it from the rooftops. ‘Nothing Happens; Twice’ has probably the most effective riff of the year and the drained through a plughole sound will probably have the kids of the early nineties crying into their discoloured Ride t-shirts. ‘Saving Up Her Wishes (For Another Christmas)’ is less invasive like all joyous Christmas tunes should be.
