Because this is Thursday evening I am going to give you something a little bit different to wrestle with. Hidden in the valleys of the rolling hills that is the greatest song Super Furry Animals never wrote are the strangest of jamborees, oddly shaped passages of audio that could have crept in from the next doors studio while Condor Moments supped on a warm brew. This band has been together for over 2 decades and they released an album last year with a title that could take just as long to recite. It is an extraordinary work that tears up the rulebook and writes its own using a language that nobody except themselves understands. I’d imagine it to be the sort of album that ‘Trout Mask Replica’ could be were it to have a greater empathy for the listeners time and patience. Give of yourself to this wonderfully eclectic group and they’ll respond in kind. KD
