Grant Birkenbeuel and JinJa Davis are Utah Carol and that simple structure is carried through to the music that they make, a lazy hazy stroll through the country with a warm breeze in your hair. ‘I’m Sorry Maria’ is taken from 2007’s ‘Rodeo Queen’ and won’t ruffle many feathers as it slowly meanders to the finish line. It’s sedatary and delicate but that doesn’t mean it’s incidental; in fact due to its slim running time it might take a few listens to truly appreciate the charms it can bestow on the attentive listener.
