One of the best retro poppers around, Cardiff’s the Keys are releasing their debut album next month and to celebrate and to get your anticipatory juices flowing here is a top song from their mini LP ‘Fire Inside’. from last year That release was undoubtedly in awe of its title track but ‘Chemistry’ gave it a run for it’s money. The Byrds, the Coral and their brethren El Goodo spring to mind but it is to the bands credit that none of it sounds staged, adulatory or in the least bit staid. Good melodies will out and the Keys appear to have been calibrated to imagine them at will. ‘Bitten By Wolves’ is out on See Monkey Do Monkey on May 2nd. KD
