The release schedule has slowed up, our last was way back in clammy June when the cool blue ‘Rivers of Hope’ swayed at our feet. The lack of meaningful since then has been down, in the most part, to not owning as much spare time as before. I’m sure Indiecater will return to our punishing schedule of incandescent releases sometime in 2012 but for now let’s reflect on what was one of the bright lights to emerge from our small label in 2011. Our discussions with Montreal’s Code Pie seem to extend for ages but patience certainly had its rewards as ‘Love Meets Rage’ blew our socks off. It was a gem, a scattered masterpiece, skiddering across genres but always fully prepared to deal a full hand of gorgeous melody. It’s players packed so much in its sound it felt at times that you were attending the curtain at the indie proms. Take a gander at second track ‘Morning After’ for an example of the woozy fare on offer. It certainly made for plenty of va va voom from our northside city view. KD
