22 years on from their faithful meeting in a New York museum Charles and Nancy Nieland show no signs of hanging up their boots on their Her Vanished Grace project. To have lasted this long in the industry takes some staying power and an unshakeable belief in what you are doing. And with last year’s ‘Star-Crossed’ sounding so vital, so alive and so taken with early 90’s shoegaze matters we hope they have only reached the midway point. If the Cocteau Twins are where it’s at for you then this NYC combo will keep you up all night with their elaborate sonic configurations. ‘Fade Away’ drifts into Slowdive territory and right now we’re trying really hard to pick ourselves up from the weeping floor.
