Laura Lang – Black Sedan

Now that seems to me to be a form of ambience, the quality of slow running water on the calming of a situation or a mind and Laura has it going on here too in a similiar manner. ‘Black Sedan’ is a perfect vehicle (!) for her folky tones, full of wonder but also a melancholic streak that can’t be shifted. This is a song with plenty to draw us in and when it turns all fiercesome I just knew we were dealing with greatness. Caught off guard because I didn’t see that glorious denouement coming. Illuminating. KH
