I Wish I Was A Punk Band – Sanguine

Gave me feelings of old 80’s ballads, the ones that would live in your head for days because the melody was at the core of everything rather than magical production. And ‘Sanguine’ sure does have a personality that is fully giving of itself so we feel like we close to a song from Chicago, a more rock orientated version of those behemoths it must be said. There are beats, guitar swirls but most of an old fashioned romantic (Phil Hamilton) who is will to take the rest of us along for the cinematic ride he has planned. A little Alphaville, Mew and even some Tender Trap just adds to the quiet/loud majesty on a song that restores order in the ballad as do gooder done good. KH
