You know the first thing this track had me thinking is that ‘Boston’ would have sit so effortlessly on the Holdovers movie soundtrack from last year. Boston is you see a hark back to folk times of yore, an uncommon warmth to the production so it feels like it has come straight from a vinyl berth. Ryan’s voice is rich with romance, the end thereof, and he is ably backed up by a minimal but affecting cello backdrop (Anastasia Povekvechnkh). It is lonesome but loneliness is the last thing we felt with ‘Boston’ around. Moving on never felt so pristine an experience. KH
