Yellow House – When the Reels Burn Out

Of course those of a psychedelic pop persuasion will be drawn like a moth to a flame for this Yellow House track. It feels to me like summer has arrived early such is the floating sense of happiness that ‘When The Reels Burn Out’ displays. At the chorus I had a proper flashback to Chapterhouse (especially their ‘Mesmerise’), shoegaze heroes, and the more I listened the more that parallel with that 90’s act made more sense. Outside of that there is just a lovely and comforting flow to the piece that we’ll rely upon for sustenance for quite a bit over the next while. KH
