Must say ‘Park n’Ride’ opened like a Vangelis song from the mid 80’s and Portland quartet Chad ensured that it didn’t shift all that far from that vantage point right the way through either. I speak of course of the electronics deployed rather than the dreamiest of vocals which have the sort of levity to lift the gloom from any day. Chad offer more besides though, there was more than a hint of punk laced Bis at times when the plumes of indie pop made way for something more agitated and rebellious. The whole affair is perfectly balanced between those two opposite ends of the spectrum and it marks ‘Park n’Ride’ out as a result. KH
