Red Langur – Idaho

You’d have to employ an obvious comparison to Sufjan Stevens on ‘Idaho’ because this is folk of the sort that he was producing in his great state traversing phase. What is great about Sweden’s Red Langur is that they’ve included all the touch points that you’d expect of a folk sway with the most, a chorus, the orchestral embellishment and held together perfectly by a warmth of spirit. So when ‘Idaho’ opens out by the mid section it feels like a proper celebration of life and summer and everything nice. Just beautiful in other words from a band who’ve just released their debut EP ‘Perpetual’. KH
