There is a sort of freedom about the way French artist Sarah Maison sets out on her ‘Exister’, like we are privy to another dimension that takes its cues from Stereolab in the first instance but is also informed by even more historic Gallic charm. The romance is palpable, we’re party to the wooing process and no manner of coy behaviour is going to stop us from falling under ‘Exister’s spell. Surf rock aficionados will be most pleased but I can see the alt pop hoards coming over the hills whooping as they go because of the existence of this impressively cool act. KH
