Johanna Gußmagg’s words are there at first and then they are not. but ‘Shoulders’ bursts into life before long to reveal a singer with a fire burning bright inside. And so we get a piece of folk rock that is not to be underestimated for there is a punchy demeanour and a light to guide the rest of us fragile types. ‘Shoulders’ is subtle and bolshie in equal measure making it an utterly refreshing experience as a result.
