The twinkling felt ever so backdrop at first, the sort that screamed lo-fi initially but subsequently revealed a giant beating heart at the controls. Thankfully I have a grá for such things and Saol (led by Zoë Gough) appear to be in full charge of an indie pop disposition. So the ebb and flow on ‘Ghosts at a Disco’ comes across as both endearing and uplifting. Could have appeared from the sixties, the nineties or given the release date 2025 too. A beautiful and fragile arrangement that reaches a spiritual plane. KH
