Sock Drawer – Fishes

The use of a moniker after all the good band names have been used, the first thought in my head but ‘Fishes’ bubbled under with such intrigue that thought was soon eviscerated. This spellbinding track introduces us to a Brighton pair (Michael Baker and Ebony Grace) who have the chemistry and subtlety to beguile and all done in a quiet and unassuming manner. But make no mistake this is an arrangement with depth, the side shows such that there will be a whole lot to devour each time we return. At the heart of it all is a beautiful reading of innocence and cute mentions of Christmas. KH
