The Virginia Planes – Cause of Last Summer

It didn’t take too long to hear the epic, thunderous and reverb filled cathedral of shoegaze strike up from the Virginia Planes. So for an old fogey like me who still dines out on 90’s sounds ‘Cause of Last Summer’ felt like a boon. This is a production from Heidelberg’s the Virginia Planes that doesn’t shy away from ambition, we’re talking Slowdive like montages of melody and feedback, and they pack a whole lot into under three minutes of action. Slapping on the headphones was inevitable for there is a treat of cinematic proportions to be savoured here. KH
