Strange Fruit – Iridescent

Definitely a woozy effect to this Strange Fruit (out Jakarta way) track and it has me casting my mind back to the baggy sound of Manchester and pushing the Paris Angels indie dance hybrid. So ‘Iridescent’ has a groove, a dream pop vocal atop too so it is pushing that 90’s reminding pulse. The thing that really sold it for me was the electronic patterns, that were positively Leftfield in nature, because it showed an act not willing to make hay with some ideas when they have a whole lot of them at their disposal. A lovely way to see out the year. KH
