Obscure Spirits – Don’t Let Me Love You

That is some serious loose playing and lively percussion that is likely to get the groovers fired up. Chicago’s Obscure Spirits do have a relationship with the dancefloor alright even if they are ripe for the rock anthem crowd too. I heard a bit of Franz Ferdinand and also early Killers and there is a definite immediacy to ‘Don’t Let Me Love You’. Makes for off-the-cuff and effortless stuff, a bit of a strut too so this act are no pushovers. In fact they may setting themselves up for a takeover. KH
