Strange Pink – Pencil Chewer

A song that doesn’t let us rest on our laurels for one second for it is spiking our aural drinks with all sorts of jagged little riffs, words to the wise and all delivered in a fashion that sounds positively like Ned’s Atomic Dustbin to me. You’ll have to go back several decades to learn about their sound but it would be a worthwhile endeavour because Hull three-piece Strange Pink reminded me of them so. Perhaps a bit more melodic but universally indie rock in tone and wearing smiles as they go so ‘Pencil Chewer’ makes for a good time tune. KH
