Those chords are so emblematic of the nineties I was sure I had cried tears over their beauty plenty of times before. But no Brace Overjean appear to be producing heavenly riffs here for 2025 and ably bolstering them with a singer who lands square in the loud fuzz and makes it all sound so effortless. Behind it all we’re still slackers and I know that because even though there is nostalgia at every turn here ‘The Count’ feels like the sound of coming home. Bliss. KH
