Well it jangles that is for sure and Australian duo Altai are able to build on such a convincing 90’s facing start ‘On Your Own’ makes for an evocative presence. There are hints of the Pretenders for me but with less husk in the vocal stakes from Tessa Collins so Altai appear to be the kind to keep things light and airy despite the weighty topic in the lyrics. A lovely contrast then, grown-up worries meet fantasy dream like structures. KH
