There is a slinky indie rock vibe to ‘Way Loud’, never feels like it is forced and that is a credit to New York’s Jack Manley that he can evoke an anthemic quality across while things feels very calm and reflected. Of course things do increasingly move in the direction of crescendo, never quite getting there but again it hardly matters when the journey that we’re taken on feels so complete. Jangle, home truths and a dash of fragility means that ‘Way Loud’ makes for a perfect cap on the summer. KH
