‘Limbo’ is in no rush to overload us with distraction and we appreciate that approach from Brighton’s Larlin. So we’re invested before things go supernova in an indie rock context. Maryann Hoar has us in her grip and then when things open out it feels like a grand reveal for what is possible with a bit of wit and imagination. Sounds like an anthem to me, the kind that would be taking up residence in a million mixtapes back in the day, but which will now own the alternative end of the streaming universe. I was hearing Wolf Alice and curiously Kim Wilde too! KH
