Howling Bells – Unbroken

You’d expect it of them but when Howling Bells really cut loose on ‘Unbroken’ it still felt like a moment where the cheap crockery might come upon an untimely end. The band do sport a singer. Juanita Stein, who adds a little temperance to the otherwise wild and chaotic chord exchanges. What a dramatic return to the fold, after a decade away, from Sydney’s Howling Bells, noise rock with a Cocteau Twins dreamy dimension. Yep, it doesn’t get much better than this in 2025. KH
