There is a wonky elegance to ‘Start Again’ and a voice that reminded me of a folkster akin to Stuart Murdoch but Belle & Sebastian weren’t ever this off-kilter. Piwaka prove to be woozy but full of real sentiment it might just be the thing to steady a hundred ships lilting to near end game status. The strings might just be the thing that got me fully on board, but the charm was evident from the off. Simple and genius at once from New Zealand’s Josh McGettigan. KH
