Nick Boeder – Your Shadowed Doubts

Not sure what it is about Colorado’s Nick Boeder but he has the capacity that few artists have to get me in a studious mode. Not just waxing lyrical about the music pouring from the speakers but taking a more cerebral approach. I think it could be down to the mix of serious but light on their feet beats that makes ‘Your Shadowed Doubts’ sound so alluring. Like David Byrne (or perhaps Robert Palmer) in many ways, the sound of an artist who has smoothed out the edges but whom still brings an excitable but perfect executed zeal. Hypnotised to the point of smitten in fact. KH
