Texan gothic act I Love You But I’ve Chosen Darkness made a really big splash in 2006 when they first appeared (and then promptly disappeared). Not even their label Secretly Canadian can throw any light on their whereabouts since then however. The news section of their website is blank and the link to their forum is obliterated. So all we have to go on is ‘Fear Is On Our Side’ and this the main single from it called ‘According To Plan’. Easy to see why they caused a stir given its primordial nature, I mean it is hardly soft elevator music with the stark bass tugs demanding attention. The fact that it goes on to reveal a killer chorus makes it all the more ravishing. Somewhat like what Human League would have sounded like if they had dropped the showgirls. KD
