Chosen to coincide with the biblical like volume of liquid that is falling on Dublin this evening, as much for the fact that we love shuffling itsy bitsy slacker numbers like this. Arches have appeared here before and since that time they’ve got around to releasing their ‘Wide Awake’ LP. It takes a lot of musical nous to sound this stoned and even more to stretch it beyond the 6 minute mark without ever sounding tired. The percussion barely registers, the chords are heavily concussed and the vocals are so heavy lidded it must have taken several boxes of broken matches to get the piece recorded. KD
