Butcher Boy – Trouble And Desire
This the very first song, from the very first album from Glasgow band Butcher Boy and what an introduction it is. There is more than a hint of Tindersticks with its distinct sense of melancholy, yet ‘Trouble And Desire’ exudes a certain lightness of being. The band, which is led by John Blain Hunt, have gone on to release two more albums which have both been critically lauded. Which begs the question, how such an auspicious prospect could have slipped the attention of so many. KD
