If you’re too young to have been around for Spaceman 3 or the Jesus & Mary Chain then here is some contemporary (if 2008 can indeed be called contemporary in a web of fleeting attention spans) sparkle that works off their template. The feedback may throttle your senses but remember it is barely decipherable vocals that mask the blazing noise and ensures your lasting impression is one of a feather bed of sound. ‘Elizabeth Pier’ won’t be doing the rounds on the wedding circuit, nor will it conspire with the flickering candlelight to woo your hot date but for a certain few it will offer a neat sideline in legal highs.
