It’s been over 3 years since a trio of fresh faced young men released their debut album ‘See You Tonight’ while still in the throes of study, books and cheap booze. Fast forward to the present and the Da Vincis are still making good on their promise to replicate their grandfather’s record collection and a band called Princeton. ‘The Green Light’ is a classy affair, studied, precise and a real grower. It is in direct contrast with the standout song, ’50’s Film’, from their debut which while straight-ahead still proffered moments of bright individuality. All told it makes for a nice build-up for the long awaited difficult second album. KD
