Harper Simon’s new LP is called ‘Division Street’ and for a minute I thought I’d spotted the primary influence in it’s naming. With receding braincells […]

Tamaryn – Heavenly Bodies
You’ll hardly be surprised to know that this isn’t Tamaryn’s first foray here. Given our vintage and insatiable appetite for regurgitating the scene that celebrated itself Tamaryn are a near perfect fit. And a contemporary one too, having turned out a note perfect album called ‘Tender New Signs’ just last year (containing this opus ‘Heavenly Bodies’). Despite the kaleidoscope of sound Tamaryn are a mere duo, based in San Francisco and comprised of the eponymous New Zealand singer and guitarist Rex John Shelverton. Their sound fills the air to breaking point and by default results in those dreamy horizon reaching stares that block out everything else that may be going on in your day. KD
