Django Django’s new album ‘Born Under Saturn’ is a heavy hitter, spoiling us with endless thrills and spills that are mostly redolent of the great synth pop songs that emerged in the 1980’s. Production has improved since back then and this album really fills the space that is blood soaked between the left and right earbuds. ‘First Light’ and ‘Reflections’ are both special moments but it is the all-encompassing ‘High Moon’ that dazzles. With melodies a-go-go and a fantastic sense of adventure this is a song that should be bellowing from every dorm, at least until the small matter of studying and exams becomes overpowering. The London band are certainly going places and with songwriting like this it could take them to the very summit. KD
