I had been convinced of this Australian act for some time but waited until the perfection they were truly capable of came along. And ‘Cartwheel and Climb’ is such a softly tailored tune, lots of nods to the Carpenters with Rachel Webster’s vocals stealing our hearts from the off. The arrangements are sparse but entirely warm with Matt Thomson’s barely audible backing vocals adding an extra splash of colour to what is already an illuminating few minutes. Put aside for the times you are in need of an antidote to soulless chart pap. KH
