It all sounds so organic it could well be the soft inner workings of a grandfather clock or even better still Allo Darlin’, lead by a fellow Aussie whose voice was in tune with nature all around. ‘Own Worst Enemy’ manages to be quiet, hushed and never in a hurry to deliver the goods. But there is a bubbling vitality too, with beats going beyond the heartfeltness, adding shade and colour to a most perfect piece of indie pop. KH
