My heart always skips a beat when I see Melbourne’s Daniel Trakell pop up on the new music exchanges, as he is one of those rare artists that never leaves you disappointed. ‘Wisdom/Boredom’ is his first track of 2019, was recorded in Nashville and his best effort to date. His vocals positively swell in melodic richness and the effect is immediate and devastating. You’ll hear plenty of Elliott Smith in the soft textures and while melancholy is never far away ‘Wisdom/Boredom’ is imbued with much more hope and happiness than solemnity. 2019’s track to date by some distance.
