The drumming here is the first thing to coral your attention but that may just be the start because ideas appear in such quantities to fill an album. ‘Cloud Nothing’ has a flagrant disregard for pacing too, more power to Rubaiyat for exuding such an off-kilter charm offensive. The Los Angeles band is led by Joel Heinrich and it is his scurrying vocal demonstrations that so illuminate this absolute charmer. KH
