This is not really what I usually go for and while I’m still not completely sold on the vocals the instrumentation on ‘One Moments Piece’ is simply too wondrous to pass up. It’s taken from Mike Strallow’s second album ‘A Fool From Everyone’ which boasts a clutch of richly textured ditties. It’s probably the classicism in his voice that reminds one of a bevy of legends but the surrounding fuss neutralises any misgivings. And despite the brevity with which ‘One Moments Peace’ is dispatched it nonetheless leaves an indelible impression. So slowly and somewhat surreptitiously this New Yorker inflicts an addiction that is only sated by another of his dextrous guitar turns. Oddly compelling. KD
