Please don’t squeal because I haven’t gone all soft on ya. Yes, ‘Falling In Love At A Coffee Shop’ has probably been wetting knickers for months now but I can’t help escaping the fact that it’s a lovely little number. Apparently it has sold a quarter of million on itunes, which says a lot about the demographic it has been conquering. But there are many cases for the defence, the first being Landon’s insatiable love for the cassette tape. Then there’s his wonderful approach to arrangements that never strangle but merely coax out your good side. His vocals are pretty impressive too, displaying a nice falsetto when the need arises. All told it is a wonderful introduction to the young lads music, watch him soundtrack every pivotal teen scene for the next 12 months. KD

This has probably sold so well because it was on that damn jewelry commercial (maybe for Zales?). It’s a lovely ditty regardless, but I’m sure some people googled away after seeing that commercial around Christmas.
