Yeah it sounds exotic and why shouldn’t it when there are 3 ladies from Barcelona at the controls. They go by the name of Aias and will be releasing their debut record ‘A La Piscina’ on Captured Tracks next month. ‘Tu Manes’ is nothing short of luminous, a Montjuic styled spectacular full of lucid invention. At first it sounds like a take from ‘Loveless’ before careering off into territories we’d really like to explore more extensively. The lyrics count for nothing but then the singing propels the piece into the outer galaxies. Lionel, forget those Mancs there is something much better on your doorstep. KD
