Atlanta’s New Animal are back (their last release came out in January so no sitting on hands round their gaff) and this time they mean business. Well, not business in the true sense as they are still giving their stuff away for free. This time Kris Hermstad and Derek Burdette have created a 4 track EP called ‘Up!’ (if it had been a movie (it was) it would have come with the tagline ‘for when you’re feeling down’) and they are really pushing the groove. Most prominently it must be said on closing track ‘I Think It’s Working’ which may take a little time to work up a head of steam but once it does it is one locomotive you’ll want to catch. The song is the duo’s most rounded effort to date; they are almost in full bloom and it’s a bouquet that many will feel is the business. KD
