The Raveonettes – Forget That You’re Young

I’d already wiped this song away from the gigabytes at my ankles but once it appeared again I could do nothing but relent. The riff is no less addictive than that Blouse track of last night and Sharon Foo brings what she brings to all Raveonettes tunes. The problem that I have with the Danish duo is that on paper they seem like the perfect band but in practice they are a good deal short of that. They certainly have a handful of classics but I wonder what would have become of them had they not been so lavishly marketed down the years. This is taken from their recently released 5th album ‘Raven In The Grave’ and heralds a new restrained direction. It works really well, all the bluster in the world can’t hide a weak tune and ‘Forget That You’re Young’ shows itself to be well endowed in that department. KD
